Service Description

This level of class is intended for those students who have either never used or seen sheet music before or for those students who wish to pass the entrance exam for Music Theory 1 that exists at most colleges. (If you can pass the test, you get to skip a class called Introduction to Music Theory, which is usually worth 3 credit hours: consider the tuition and fees you will save by paying for my lessons instead of this class). Topics will include (in this general order): Clef and Note names, half-steps and whole steps, Octave Location numbers, Scales (Major along with Natural, Harmonic, and Melodic minors), Key Signatures, the Circle of 5ths, the order of sharps and flats, intervals, chords, and basic rhythm. Also, we would cover the basic writing techniques so that if you were to hand-write your sheet music, someone else could read it to play it for you.
